
The debut solo album ‘The Boxer’ by Kele Okereke, the lead singer of British indie rock band Bloc Party see’s him venturing into world of electro inspired pop.
Released June 21st 2010, the first single from The Boxer ‘Tenderoni’, released on the 14th June, and the second, ‘Everything You Wanted’, on the 16th August. The albums third single was ‘On The Lam’ released on 25th October. The album received generally favorable reviews from critics.
The album was recorded in New York with XXXchange, the Brooklyn-based bedroom production prodigy that crafted the sound of the last Spank Rock record and aims to melt the distinctions between dance music and cerebral pop, with influences ranging from Gary Numan and Adam Ant to Michael Jackson.
